Formal Training For New Ministers
Support and promote the formal training of ministers.
Goal: To provide support for new ministers of the congregation to receive formal training in biblical studies and church administration as well their specialty ministry area.
Narrative: The congregation will provide a series of training opportunities, scholarships and in-service workshops designed to promote the training of new ministers, as they respond to their life’s calling over the next 25 years. The goal is to activate a system of support for those who formally minister to the congregation including, providing scholarships assistance for seminary instruction, college training, workshops and convention sponsored seminars and lectures. Morever, the goal is to require participation in the formal training opportunities as a prerequisite for active ministry leadership among the congregation.
Resources Needed: Pastor, Leadership Training Program, Scholarship Committee
Resource Development.The
Leadership School will offer seminary level classes for ministers , connected
with an accredited bible college as well as sponsor course opportunities
at the local level.
The scholarship committee will promote a church based scholarship assistance
program for ministers for recommendation to the pastor and congregation.

Implementation Time Frame: Five years, beginning February 2000 to December 2004.
Estimated Costs to Accomplish Objective: $10,000 over five years. A minimum of $2,000 a year generated through extra appeals, general budget and outside resources.
