Increased Support of Community Based Charities


Increase support of charitable causes selected for church based support

   Goal: To intensify the church’s support for community based charities it has elected to support.

   Narrative: The church will increase its support for charities that it supports. At present the congregation makes marginal contributions, usually upon request to, Twin City Community Welfare, Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America and Grannie’s Kitchen. The congregation will make regular increased contributions to these charities and others selected. In addition the church will evaluate the various ways the ministries operate and involve its members in the ministries of these charities, where possible.

    Resources needed: Home Mission Committee, Deacons, Clerical.

    Resource Development: The church will utilize the services of volunteers it already has involved in the ministries named.

    Implementation Goal: 2001

    2000, Form committee, Review needs of supported charities
    2001, Increase financial support, increase member involvement
    2002, Continue increased participation, evaluate others. .
 
    Implementation Time Frame: Three years, February 2000 to October  2002.

    Estimated Actual Cost to Implement: Increase financial support for supported groups by $3,000 or more over three years.
